Suffolk road closures and possible delays | Transportation
The following roads in the City of Suffolk will have closures and possible delays today, Monday, January 9, 2012, due to construction and maintenance projects:
-A contractor will have possible flagger operations with single lane closures in the 4300 to 5200 block of Godwin Boulevard from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. every Tuesday through Friday. The work is expected to be ongoing through March 2012.
-A contractor will have possible shoulder and lane closures in the 3800 block of Bridge Road to conduct construction projects for the Bridge Road Medical Office Complex. This project is expected to be ongoing until March 2012.
-City of Suffolk Department of Public Works will have a single lane closed on Garfield Avenue between Harrison Street and Pitchkettle Road until 3:00 p.m.
-A contractor will close one lane of the Mills Godwin Bridge to repair duct work under the bridge. The closure will be from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays, and 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., on Fridays. The project is expected to last until January 12, 2012. Once this portion of the work is completed, periodic lane closures may still occur due to ongoing work through February 21, 2012.
-A contractor will close Pinner Street to thru traffic between Bank and Finney Avenue from 7:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., daily through Thursday, January 12. All thru traffic will be detoured to surrounding streets. City, emergency and residential access will be accommodated as needed.
